Brian was able to secure a new job quickly, one he says turned out to be a great and fantastic step up from HarvardNet. He stayed there for many years, many more times than his term at Harvardnet. He switched jobs recently but again, this was another step up. Brian did well. But he sure didn't know he would.

I have a terrible suspicion that this happens far too often. I've been depositioned for a suit in which a former employer of mine completely abandoned their responsibility, and I was the linchpin in the paper trail that clarified their role.

Somehow I survived the testimony, kept my job for a few years longer, but it was no small feat, and I never ever trusted my continuity of employment with them after this little event.

Your tale is probably the norm of what happens. Brian's a stand up guy. We're all idealistic when it comes to hoping we work for the good guys, but it takes courage to step up and acknowledge that you might not, especially when your livelihood's on the line.

Impressive.

This is an absolutely incredible story, and an incredible person. I'm not sure if I'd be strong enough to do the same thing if I was in his position, but I hope so.
