I love Cybercamps.com! I was never interested in the "Traditional Summer Camp", but love computer camps! In Massachusetts they have four locations.

* Waltham - Bently College

* Wellesley

* North Andover

* Cambridge

They even have a cool promotion program called Action Agents that lets you earn money and prizes.

If you use my promotion code redwood you will get a discount.

When I was 12 I attended Cybercamps, which is a program very much like you described. They run camps at college campuses across the country. I stayed in the dorms and ate dorm food just like you described. This is also where I learned to program in C++. Just thought you'd be happy to know that these sort of programs are still alive today.

I begged to go to a computer camp as a kid. I remember reading about them in magazines at the time and couldn't imagine a more awesome place to spend a summer. Instead, my parents sent me to Camp Kickapoo a local Boy Scout camp. I've no doubt your experiences at Surprise Lake Camp rivalled mine at Kickapoo. During our orientation, a guy in an indian costume ("Kickapoo Joe") appeared out of the woods to remind us that he watches our every move while we're at camp, so no littering! Wow, what better way to scare the piss out of a bunch of 10-year-olds than telling them a boogieman in a headress is watching over their shoulder. Cee-ripes, man. The only remotely cool thing I remember doing there was shooting a rocket. The rest of my memories involves being tossed into a pool (I couldn't swim), getting beat up, going on nature hikes so long my nose would bleed, and being forced to make bead-laden items as gifts.

I always regretted that I never went to a computer camp. My husband went to one as a young teen, even though he had no computer at the time, and got his first kiss. It also led to him getting a TRS-80. So you can see why I was jealous of computer campers.
