		<description>Their entire schtick is based on &#039;anyone can edit it&#039;, and they don&#039;t want to have to surrender that perceived ideal, even in the face of the facts. They are proceeding in exactly the same manner as previous attempts to deal with similar problems (spam particularly). Eventually they&#039;ll figure out something that&#039;s workable, or they will become perceived as unreliable due to the volume of crap.

		<description>As a consequence of them still allowing anonymous, non-logged in edits, the admins have been banning whole countries, regions, school districts, universities, companies that use proxies, and most AOL users.
If they just required all users to create an account and banned by account instead of IP, they wouldn&#039;t have to block entire countries, but I guess they like that kind of perceived power.
